ABSTRACT
We decide to make a glossary on symptoms & signs of the diseases that are studied in the 5th year of
Medicine, because in this level the main objectives are to report & discuss cases & there is no literature
available for all students about this.

For this we consulted different updated books & dictionaries looking for all signs & symptoms of 7
diseases studied in the second semester & their equivalents in Spanish, & we completed them by Units
following an alphabetic order.

This glossary is recommended to the medicine students of 5th year to save their learning time.

We also think that as teachers of English for special purpose are not doctors this glossary is very useful
because it provides them with necessary medical terms on symptoms and signs for each unit.

INTRODUCTION
Taking into consideration that in 5th year the main objectives are the case report and case discussion we
should focus our attention on some vocabulary that is necessary for both objectives.

Both symptoms and signs are an intrinsic part of case report and case discussion.

As there is no literature available about this for all the students, we decided to compile the symptoms
and signs of all the diseases of 5th year in a Glossary. As we have already made the 1st part of this
Glossary corresponding to the diseases of the first semester, we now present the second part of the
Glossary corresponding to the diseases of the second semester.
